The River Ring design began in a small Northern California town where I was a bench jeweler in a small gallery. A majority of the work I did there was centered on wedding rings. Anything from repairing and resizing rings that had seen several lifetimes, to designing and crafting pieces for new found love.

At the time work was my love – and it dawned on me that it may be that way permanently. So, I decided to create a ring for that love. For myself. A ring that carried just as much meaning. A ring that celebrated being completely content in my choice to follow the dream of being an artist. I designed it after one of my favorite places, the American River, where I spent every moment of my free time.

In the year that followed a few friends asked me to custom make them a version of this ring. And then for several couples’ wedding bands. It then occurred to me that this ring may have a little magic. Like that river, it was constant not in change but in its meaning. Of love. For yourself or someone else.

And the River Ring collection was born. I hope you enjoy it as much as the love that made it.
